La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 – Europe’s top four leagues clashed on Sunday night. There was no match in the English Premier League, it was in the FA Cup. Most of the big teams left the field disappointed in the holiday matches. Liverpool and Juventus lost, and PSG-Real Madrid had to leave the field with a draw.

Italian Serie A
Juventus have deducted 15 points last week due to irregularities in the transfer’s financial statements. Due to this the team has to drop from third place to tenth place in the points list. This time, Juventus is finding points in the field as well. Massimiliano Allegri’s team lost to Monza yesterday after drawing with Atalanta.
With this 2-0 loss at home, Juve dropped to 13th in the points table. 23 points in 20 matches. To play in the Champions League, you have to be in the top four. At the moment, Juventus is 15 points behind Atalanta in fourth place.
Napoli is now at the top of the Italian Serie A with 53 points. They beat Roma 2-1 on Sunday night with a last-minute goal by Giovanni Simeone. Roma is in sixth place with 37 points.
Napoli, who last won the league in 1990, took the lead in the 17th minute through Victor Oshimen’s goal. Stephan El Shaarawi equalized for Jose Mourinho’s team in the 75th minute. Argentinian forward Simeon gave Napoli 3 points by scoring in the 86th minute.
Meanwhile, AC Milan lost 5-2 to Sassuolo, the team number 16 on the points list. This is AC Milan’s fourth loss in the last five matches across all competitions. Olivier Giroud and Divock Origi scored 2 goals for the team. Last year’s champions are now at number 5.
Spanish La Liga
Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid played last night in Spain’s La Liga. In between, Atletico won but Real had to leave the field with a draw. At Osasuna, Atletico won 1-0 with substitute Saul Niguez. And in their field, Santiago Bernabeu, Real drew goalless with Real Sociedad.
Barcelona tops the La Liga points table with 47 points. Real is second with 42 points, and Sociedad is third with 39 points. Atlético is fourth with 34 points.
German Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 in German Bundesliga. Karim Ademi scored for Dortmund in a match captained by Jude Bellingham, the other goal was an own goal by Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.
With this win, Dortmund has moved up to fourth in the points table. After 18 matches, the team has 34 points. Bayern Munich is on top with 37 points in the same match. Union Berlin and Leipzig are second and third with 36 and 35 points respectively.
French Ligue A
PSG went down with Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe in this first starting eleven after the World Cup. However, the current champions could not win against Rim, which is number 11 in the points table. Neymar gave PSG a great goal in the 51st minute. Arsenal loanee Florein Balogan equalized for Rim in the last minute of added time.
Despite the 1-1 draw, however, PSG is number 1 in French League ‘A’. After playing equal 20 matches, they jumped to second place with 45 points. In the night’s other matches, Nice beat Lille 1-0, Ajaccio beat Lyon 2-0 and Brest beat Anja 4-0.
English FA Cup
Among the 6 teams that will play in the FA Cup on Sunday night, Liverpool is the only superpower. Jurgen Klopp’s team suffered a major disaster. Liverpool was eliminated from the fourth round of the FA Cup after losing 2-1 to Brighton.
Stoke City reached the fifth round after beating Stevenage 3-1 in the other match. However, as the Wrexham-Sheffield United match ended in a 3-3 draw, the two teams will meet again to advance to the fifth round.
