The battle for the last sixteen ended with Real Madrid and Napoli advancing to the quarter-finals Champions League. The quarter-final draw took place this afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland.
Graham Potter’s Chelsea will have to play against the current champions Real in the last eight. Pep Guardiola now has the responsibility to stop Bayern Munich. The German champions got the English champions Manchester City.
The English opponent in the last sixteen match was Real Madrid. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could not stand in front of the Spanish giants. Bayern Munich also got a tough opponent. However, Messi-Neymar-Mbappe could not break the fortress of the German champions.
The other two quarter-finals will be Inter Milan-Benfica and Italian superpowers AC Milan-Napoli. Although Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli have the experience of winning the Champions League, Napoli is going to play in the last eight for the first time.
Seven-time champions AC Milan last won the trophy in 2007. And Inter last tasted title in 2010. Benfica won in 1962, when the tournament was called the European Cup.
The first leg of the quarter finals will be played on April 11 and 12. The return leg will be on April 18 and 19.
